BREAKING NEWS: A MAN ON WHEELCHAIR BLOWS HIMSELF UP AT THE ARRIVAL WING OF BEIJING AIRPORT

Images of a man on a wheelchair who blew himself up at the arrival wing of Beijing’s international airport today at around 6.24pm local time has gone viral on the internet.

The alleged bomber who has been identified as Ji Zhongxing, from Heze in Shandong province was said to have carried out this dastardly act in protest to what policemen did to him. Bomber Jin Zhongxing ,34 was running an unlicensed tuk-tuk service and was stopped and beaten and disabled in 2005, according to his letter.

The explosion happened as flights from New York, Hong Kong and Fukuoka in Japan were scheduled to arrive at what is the world’s second busiest airport.

The man is thought to have detonated a package of gunpowder used to make firecrackers.
Witnesses told local media the man had been shouting before the apparent detonation.

Photographs posted on Chinese social media- Weibo (Chinese equivalent of twitter) showed a man in a wheelchair with his arms aloft and holding a white object in his left hand.

The man was initially suspected to have died in the blast in Terminal 3 at around 6.24pm local time, but Chinese state media has now said he survived and was taken to hospital.

It said there were no other injuries, that no flights had been affected, and that order had been restored at the airport.
