In what he tagged “The Mess Called Legislator’s Salary” on
the ekekeee.com website, Debo Adejugbe analyses what Nigerian Senators earn, monthly and yearly. See for yourself and give your opinion.
I saw an article where our legislators salaries was laid
bare and this little analysis is a cry for help on those who have the numbers
to release them and let’s bring these gluttons down. Now that they have agreed
to debate Oby Ezekwesili on the figures she presented on the National
Assembly’s spending, maybe we can confront them with this average computed
salary structure and see how they react to it. They have failed to refute her
claims with facts hence we should give it to them.
If they claim these figures are not correct, fine! Release
yours or hold your peace forever.

I just tried to review what I saw in the article and
properly bring the numbers to the fore. Here is one report detailing their
salaries in 2011 and the article where I sourced some of the numbers. If this
is actually what they collect as salaries, I think they owe Oby Ezekwesili and
the rest of us an apology. If they dispute this, they should release the data
to us. That way, we will stop haunting them at every opportunity. I still doubt
that they will though.
