NIGERIAN PRESIDENT, GOODLUCK JONATHAN PLAYS TENNIS 4 TIMES A WEEK

The executive chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Amaju Pinnick, has revealed that President Goodluck Jonathan loves sports passionately and even takes time out of his busy schedule, to play tennis four times a week.

Pinnick was speaking as a guest on Channels TV Sunrise Daily, while assessing the midterm report of the administration in the sports sector.

“At least four times in a week he (President Jonathan) plays table tennis, he plays squash,” he stated.

He also revealed that Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta and Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos state, are also avid sports lover. This, according to him, is why sports is progressing under their governments, because “to make any impact – meaningful- in sport, one must first be passionate about sport”.

He also addressed Jonathan as a ‘village boy’, because of his humble origins from the aquatic Niger Delta region.

“And again, a village boy, he is a very good swimmer” he added.
