CREMATION BILL IS SIGNED INTO LAW IN LAGOS STATE
The Governor of Lagos State, Nigeria, Governor Babatunde Fashola has finally signed the proposed cremation bill into law.
The new law permits state authorities to burn unclaimed corpses in mortuaries across the state after a period of time. The state Commissioner for health also reserves the right to consent to and approve the disposal of the ashes gathered if the owners of the corpse refuse to show up for collection after a 14-day notice period
