I stumbled on the full list of Nigerian Senators, who voted
in support of the Underage marriage act. I am still trying to process what this
is all about. I thought every decision taken on behalf of the Nigerian populace is
supposed to transcend into some form of benefit to its people either now or
later isn't it? Well may be there will come a time when we will enjoy the benefits of this decision.

ReplyDeleteDarkness becomes a norm for the people with blind leaders as they cannot see the light*idea* power to the people is lust as ignorance conceives ignorance and as of now children conceive children (as regards the provisions of the newly enacted underage marriage act). Educate Nigeria do not occupy it
ReplyDeleteI think we are jst been myopic here, based on sentiment. The what Yerima and other senators did was to say that, age limit for marriage should not be included in the constitution as the religion does not provide for it. I wonder if 18 year or any age limit is also stated in the bible?
ReplyDeleteI just wanna ask a simple question. How old was Mary when she gave birth to Jesus? I sincerely need an answer! HYPOCRITES !!!
ReplyDeleteThis is not about religion. It's about rights. Give the girl child a chance/right to decide what she wants to do with her life and not just marry her off and kill all her dreams, aspirations and hopes. She may choose not to marry for all I care...but let it be her decision.
