You may now be called upon by the UKBA home office for a face to face interview if you apply for a Tier 4 student visa according to a newsletter sent out by Migration Experts (see below)
Tier 4 Student Visa Interviews Announced
The UK Home Office has announced that applicants who apply for a Tier 4 student visa may be called for a short interview when attending the visa application centre to submit their application and biometric information.
The interview will be known as a credibility interview and will focus on the applicant's reason for coming to the UK.
The Home Office further said that a report of the interview will be sent to the visa officer to consider alongside the visa application and supporting documents. A further review might be requested if more information is needed.
