Kim Kardashian declares she 'definitely' wants to eat her placenta.Says it has health benefits

Consuming your baby's placenta after childbirth is thought by many people to have important health benefits.

But Kim Kardashian's family seem more disgusted than enthusiastic at the star's plans to eat the rather unusual delicacy.

'I definitely want to eat it,' the then-pregnant Kim tells her family over dinner in Sunday's episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.'There's cook books of different ways you have to cook it.'

The star, who was then expecting baby daughter North, by boyfriend Kanye West, initially asks the family chef Sharone if he has ever cooked a placenta.

'My wife did that,' Sharone tells her before going on to discuss its wide-ranging health benefits. 'It's supposed to be good in two ways. One, it's supposed to help with post partum, and also it's great for menopause'

'Oh you guys can split it,' declares Scott Disick, looking at Kris, while Khloe asks Kim: 'Would you share with mom?'

Kris Jenner nearly chokes on her meal at the suggestion she should 'split' Kim's placenta and accuses Kim of ruining her dinner.

Kim's topic of dinner conversation put much of her family off their meal

Unsurprisingly, Kris doesn't appear too keen on the idea. 'This is such a beautiful dinner, I just lost my appetite. That is the most disgusting thing I've ever heard.'

Only Kourtney was supportive. 'Why would you not take it? That's the question I want to know,' she declares. 'I want to have a third child just to eat the placenta.'

'I think everyone's just being really weird and close minded except for Kourtney - she gets it,'  Kim tells viewers after the rather lively dinner debate.

It is not clear whether Kim actually did follow through with her plan after giving birth to baby North West on June 15.

Meanwhile, the two-month-old will be seen by fans for the first time when a photograph of her is unveiled on Kris Jenner's day time talk show on Friday.

'North is very beautiful,' an observer told E! News after seeing the photograph on the pre-taped show earlier this week.

'She has big cheeks, a lighter complexion than Kanye, but closer to Kanye's colour than Kim's. She has straight black hair and almond eyes just like Kim. She has a round face and is really cute.'
