Khloe Kardashian put on a brave face for the camera on
Friday, Aug. 30, just hours after news broke that her husband, Lamar Odom, had
been arrested earlier in the day for driving under the influence. Posing with
friends in a photo she shared on Instagram, the 29-year-old reality star stared
sultrily -- or perhaps sadly -- into the lens.
"Omg you can totally not sit with us," she
captioned the picture, which also featured her hair and makeup team (Joyce
Bonelli, Jen Atkin, and Rob Scheppy). It was her second such selfie this week;
on Aug. 28, amid news of her husband's substance-abuse issues, she shared a
solo shot of herself looking somber (but still beautiful).
Aside from the photos, however -- and one tweet about people
"talking s--t about her family" -- the Keeping Up With the
Kardashians star has remained relatively quiet on social media in recent days.
She
has yet to comment on her husband's drug problems or on his
Aug. 30 arrest, for which he had his driver's license suspended for an entire
year. (Public Information Officer Leland Tang tells US Weekly that Odom lost
his driving privileges because he refused to take a chemical test after the
incident.)
"We gave him plenty of opportunities to recant and
submit to the test but he refused," Tang tells Us of the athlete's
vehicular troubles. Based on California law, Odom will be allowed to reapply
for a license after one full year.
As previously reported, the basketball player, 33, was
pulled over in the San Fernando Valley around 4 a.m. on Friday after officers
spotted his white Mercedes SUV weaving slowly on the road, well below the speed
limit. The athlete showed "objective signs of intoxication and was unable
to perform field sobriety tests as explained and demonstrated," the
California Highway Patrol report stated.
The run-in comes amid news that Odom is battling a serious
case of substance abuse that threatens to tear apart his marriage to
Kardashian. "Khloe has seemed very unhappy lately," a source
previously told US. "She's not herself. It's heartbreaking to see how
unhappy she is, because she is in love with him. It's so sad."
Hmmn! what can one say? Love???
